I am a Texas boy, born and proud.  I grew up in Fort Worth, TX and gave my life to Christ at the age of 8.  I preached my first sermon during my senior year in High School. It was during my teenage years that I began to understand the great depth of God’s love and sensed my call into the pastorate.  I completed my BFA at UNT, and my MDIV at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX.  I believe God has called me to help God’s people to grow in their love relationship with Christ.

Prior to being a pastor, I served as an Associate Pastor/Youth minister at two churches, Interim Pastor, and eventually as Senior Pastor in 2001.  I have served as a Senior Pastor for the past 20 years at two churches in Texas prior to coming to The Worship Place.  I have also served as a Chaplain for Marketplace Chaplains as well as various hospice companies for over six years.

It was at UNT, Denton where I met the love of my wife Amber Patrick who has worked in the Texas School education system since 2012 and received her Master of Education from Concordia University.

We have two children:  Zachery, a software engineer, who lives in Las Colinas, and Carrington, a student at UTSA.  We both enjoy encouraging others to learn where God is at work and join Him.  I enjoy playing “find the golf ball” with friends, and I enjoy sharing coffee with God’s people.
