Having grown up in the northeast, I got here as fast as I could. Blessed with parents who loved Jesus, I put my faith in Christ at a young age. After receiving my Bachelor’s degree from Cairn University, I was ordained by my home church. I completed a Master of Divinity at Tyndale Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry from Trinity International University.

My first church was on Cape Cod; followed by senior pastorates in Toronto, Chicago, southern Pennsylvania, and Cypress, Texas. It was a joy and blessing to be part of such wonderful congregations. This includes The Worship Place, where we began ministry in January 2022.

I was privileged to serve in several other roles during my pastorates. These included, Associate Editor of preaching resources with Christianity Today, and Assistant Researcher for the Lanier Theological Library. I have written numerous articles and contributed to seven books, including Stories from God’s Heart (Moody, 2000); The Art and Craft of Biblical Preaching (Zondervan, 2005); Interpretation and Application (Hendrickson, 2012).

Amy (a northerner, and graduate of Moody Bible Institute) and I have been married since 1982. We have two daughters, both living in Cincinnati. The oldest is married with three children.
